About Margin Meter

Margin Meter provides independent browser-based tools for measuring and formatting text. The site is a writing measurement workspace: you paste or type in a page, and the numbers update in that same browser window.

The purpose is practical. Writers, students, and anyone preparing a limited-length message can count words, count characters with and without whitespace, estimate reading or speaking time, look at word frequency, change letter case, clean extra spaces, and sort lines. None of those actions require an account. None of them send the text to a remote analysis service from these pages.

The tools do not grade writing quality, detect plagiarism, or predict search rankings. Different programs count hyphens, emoji, and abbreviations in different ways. Margin Meter documents its own conventions and leaves the comparison to you.
